Installed the latest update as of Sept 2012 and lost all functionality. Im back to using Beyond Compare in Parallels. Emailed developer a few times but no answer. Do not buy, it will be a complete waste of $7.99.

Didnt read the reviews before my $8 was stolen from me - app doesnt function at all, I WANT MY MONEY BACK
It was working fine on Mountain Lion. Now it wont even start. I click on the applications icon, and NOTHING HAPPENS. The weird thing is that Activity Monitor shows that a process is running. But on the forground, nothing is happening. PLEASE FIX IT. This was a really awesome program and it was working great for me.
Many of the controls are unclear or work the opposite of whats expected (for example, in the pull-down from the task bar "Auto Sync OFF" means "please turn this feature off" where most apps it would mean "this feature is currently off"). There are many more cryptic uses of terminology that makes this app not quite as useful as it should be. Some of the help screens are simply incorrect (look at A+>B and A<+B ... they say the same thing! which is it?) so you really have to guess at the developers logic and NOT rely on Help screens. The amiguities and confusion almost led me to destroy my existing backup file-set! I realize that many of these are due to English not being the developers native language, okay but then he/she should be a little more diligent in their Help pages! Id rate it somewhere bertween "hate it" and "dont like it" (1.5 stars) ... Id say "sorry I paid $8 for it".
I tried several sync apps, and unfortuantely this one was one among those I had to discard. It seems intuitive enough but its not, the commands are not really clear. I even tried a number of test syncs with mock folders (folders full of junk just for the sake of trying) and I couldnt figure this app out. I spent my money on something I had to stop using, not happy. I had better luck with the app called "file synchronization".
Prior to September this was a fantastic app, but recent updates now requires that task data to be reentered nearly every time it is used or the sync fails. Apparently this is due to having to comply with Apples "sandboxing" requirements. Ive reloaded an old version from my TimeMachine backup and will use that until it stops working. I havent updated to OSX 10.8 yet, but when I do, I may have to find another way to sync.
App does just what its supposed to. Quick and easy. Developer is prompt to respond to questions and address issues. Highly recommended.
I had been using FileSync, a nice free app for syncing, but one day I carelessly went in the wrong direction. Time Machine, plus a little work, saved me but I decided I did not want to take a chance that the next time would be a genuine disaster. Sync Folders Pro has a nice security blanket. It has an option to save deleted files. It also does a genuine bidirectional sync so, if I had been using it, I couldnt have gone in the wrong direction. Ive been using it for a few days now and I have learned to trust it. I no longer force a Time Machine update before every sync. I tried the free version first. The developer has nothing to hide; if you dont like it, dont buy it. I liked it and I bought it.
Could not use this program in production because it spent more time locking up itself and the screen than it didnt. Whats the point of a constant live sync if it locks up the entire filesystem and leaves the host machine unuseable. Cant even run it on a background server because any one connecting to this machine is going to be left hanging everytime folder sync pro checks for changes. This software suggests it can be used to live sync to local directories, but Ive found that it wasnt great for that.
Vadim, the developer, has been amazing to work with. I have specific needs for a 100+TB media server (XBMC and PLEX) and syncing such large RAID arrays requires a stable and completely reliable application. I have had no issues with this app and it syncs extremely large files with ease. Vadim has been extremely responsive, helpful, and has even added specific functionality that I required for my setup upon request! This app just keeps getting better and I am looking forward to seeing where Vadim takes it! Great App! 5 Stars!!! If you are looking for THE syncing app. Look no further...
This is an excellent program for synching your files with a thumb drive. I use it on a daily basis, bringing stuff home that Ive worked on elsewhere. This app is also constantly being improved. There have been five or six updates in the last couple of months, and each one brings additional function.
I use this app to sync folders on an external hard drive. The Sync From To - To From works flawlessly. The application is very fast, as well. Thank you.
This $8.00 app is saving me hundreds of dollars. I bought a MacMini and use it as a server. It was good but didnt allow syncing. This app allows all three of my devices to be "on the same page" at all times without having to do the montly expense thing using Carbonite or Dropbox. It keeps your deleted files, Iguess until you manuall delete them from the deleted folder. The support page is a little tough to interpret because English is not the first language of the Designer but the app is so simple you really dont need support.
This is a good program for syncing folders between my local HDD and a network drive. Took a while to setup and luckily I had a time machine backup when it deleted all my files, but I think I got it working. So far, it has copied whatI want.
I use Aperture and have 3 managed libraries totalling 635 GB. I use Sync Folder Pro to make two copies of my working library every night (151 GB). My backup devcies are two NAS units 8TB each. Im able to sync over the (wired) network without any problems. Twice a week on different nights I sync the other two libraries to the NAS units (362 & 122 GB). Sync Folder Pro will read inside the Aperture Library Package and update/delete only the files that have changed. I routinely open the synced library in Aperture to verify that backup is "OK", and have never had a problem. Before discovering Sync Folder Pro it was a pain to try and keep backup copies, now I just schedule it for the middle of the night and forget it.
Product works as advertised, but the user interface needs a lot of work, and there is audible feedback when clearning the log which cant be turned off from what I can tell.
I have found Sync Folders Pro to be a great little reliable syncing program. It has an easy interface for non pro users but it also has some nice more advanced features for those who need them. While I have run into a few small issues, the developer seems willing to work on them quickly. The help pages online give fairly easy and thorough instructions for each feature in the program.
I was looking for a simple, straight forward sync-app that would allow me to manually synchronize several folders on two different external hard drives - and Sync Folders Pro does that flawlessly. I dont use the auto-sync feature, so I cant say anything about it, but I can highly recommend this app to anyone wanting to sync folders manually. Theres traditional mirroring & bi-directional sync and tons of preferences you can tweak to your liking. Also, it looks like Sync Folders Pro is in constant development - a lot of features have been added since I bought the app more than a year ago and the developer seems determined to make the app better with every update. Sync Folders Pro is fast and stable and I feel like I can trust the app completely - and thats one of the most important things a sync-app has to accomplish :))
Just installed this yesterday after using another app for quite a long time. My previous app was OK, but was a bit confusing to understand in that I could not always determine if my file copies were successful or not. It simply was not clear. So far, Sync Folders Pro seems to be straight-forward, easy to understand, and best of all, this morning, when I checked my results, it seems to have worked fine. The thing I actually like best is that there is ONE web page that is effectively the only instruction manual you need to setup this application. All the answers are there, and you can find them very quickly.
The app does exactly what it says, and it offers a lot of flexibility. I find the settings panel to be a little on the confusing side, but the online help does a good job of explaining what everything is for. I initially had some trouble setting up an automated sync task. When I sent an e-mail to the developer, he replied very quickly with the solution. (Some features depend on Spotlight, and I had excluded one of my volumes from Spotlight long ago. It’s working great now.)
